Directors Guild Awards consagra diretor de “La La Land”

O Directors Guild Awards, em sua 69ª edição, consagrou “La La Land – Cantando Estações” como vencedor da categoria principal, Melhor Diretor. O prêmio é dado anualmente pelo Sindicato dos Diretores de Hollywood. Damien Chazelle, de apenas 32 anos, é o mais jovem agraciado pela premiação.

Na categoria Diretor Estreante o vencedor foi Garth Davis, por “Lion: Uma Jornada Para Casa”, derrotando Tim Miller (de “Deadpool”) e Nate Parker (de “O Nascimento de uma Nação”).

O DGA costuma prever o vencedor da categoria no Oscar. Nos últimos 13 anos, a escolha do Sindicato dos Diretores coincidiu com a da Academia de Hollywood 12 vezes. O Oscar 2017 acontece em 26 de fevereiro (veja a lista de indicados aqui).

Nas categorias de TV, “Game of Thrones” faturou o prêmio de Melhor Direção de Série Dramática pelo episódio ‘The Battle of the Bastards’, dirigido por Miguel Sapochnik. “Veep”, que concorreu por dois episódios, venceu com ‘Inauguration’, de Becky Martin.
