David Gilmour anuncia filme-concerto e álbum da atual turnê, Luck and Strange

Registro das apresentações no histórico Circus Maximus de Roma chega aos cinemas em setembro, seguido de lançamentos físicos com conteúdo inédito

O lendário guitarrista e vocalista do Pink Floyd, David Gilmour, anunciou o lançamento de um novo filme-concerto e álbum ao vivo, capturando a grandiosidade de sua mais recente turnê mundial Luck and Strange, realizada em 2024. O projeto, intitulado “Live at the Circus Maximus”, será exibido globalmente nos cinemas e salas IMAX por tempo limitado a partir de 17 de setembro, e chega às plataformas físicas no dia 17 de outubro, pela Sony Music Vision em parceria com a Trafalgar Releasing.

O filme marca o retorno de Gilmour aos palcos após quase uma década de hiato e destaca as apresentações realizadas no emblemático Circo Máximo — arena romana que já serviu de palco para corridas de bigas na antiguidade e agora foi transformada em cenário para uma experiência audiovisual inesquecível. A direção é assinada por Gavin Elder, colaborador de longa data do músico, conhecido por sua sensibilidade em capturar performances com qualidade cinematográfica.

Uma noite em Roma: música e história em comunhão

Gravado durante os concertos de abertura da turnê, o filme mostra Gilmour em plena forma, diante de um público extasiado e um dos panoramas históricos mais icônicos do mundo ocidental. A escolha do Circo Máximo não foi acidental: além da beleza estética e valor simbólico, o espaço proporcionou uma atmosfera quase mística para o reencontro do artista com seus fãs.

No setlist, canções de seu novo álbum Luck and Strange se mesclam com clássicos eternos do Pink Floyd, como ‘Comfortably Numb’, ‘Wish You Were Here’, ‘Time’, ‘High Hopes’ e ‘Breathe’, criando um espetáculo onde o novo e o eterno coexistem em perfeita harmonia.

Lançamentos físicos e edições especiais

Além da experiência cinematográfica, os fãs poderão mergulhar ainda mais fundo no universo de “Luck and Strange” com o lançamento físico do projeto em 2 Blu-rays e 3 DVDs, que incluirão imagens inéditas dos bastidores e a apresentação completa mixada em áudio 5.1 surround e Dolby Atmos (esta última exclusiva da edição Blu-ray).

Já o álbum ao vivo, The Luck and Strange Concerts, será lançado também no dia 17 de outubro em edições duplas de CD, quádruplas em vinil (4LPs) e uma edição super deluxe. Esta última reúne todos os formatos de áudio, além de um livro de capa dura com 120 páginas intitulado “David Gilmour Luck And Strange Live”, contendo fotografias tiradas por Polly Samson, esposa de Gilmour e letrista de longa data, que acompanhou a turnê documentando momentos íntimos e icônicos.

Uma nova fase para um velho mestre

Com “Luck and Strange”, Gilmour não apenas retorna aos holofotes após anos de silêncio nos palcos, mas também reafirma sua posição como uma das vozes mais sensíveis e criativas da música contemporânea. Lançado em estúdio em 2024, o álbum trouxe uma sonoridade introspectiva, com faixas que abordam o tempo, a perda, o amor e o envelhecer com uma honestidade rara.

A turnê, por sua vez, mostrou que, mesmo após mais de 50 anos de carreira, Gilmour continua cativando plateias com a mesma precisão técnica, emoção e lirismo que o tornaram ícone de uma geração.

Ingressos e expectativa mundial

Os ingressos para as sessões de “Live at the Circus Maximus” começam a ser vendidos no dia 6 de agosto.
