A maioria dos artistas recebeu seus astronautas à distância.
The Weeknd faturou o prêmio mais concorrido da noite. Além de Clipe do Ano, a faixa ‘Blinding Lights’ também lhe rendeu Melhor Canção R&B.
Lady Gaga foi a mais premiada, com cinco astronautas no total: Artista do Ano, Música do Ano, Colaboração e Fotografia – por sua parceria com Ariana Grande ‘Rain on Me’ – e o novíssimo Tricon Award, que nada mais é do que a tradicional homenagem pelo conjunto da obra de um artista. A cantora chamou atenção por seus figurinos (sim, Lady Gaga ainda causa surpresa com suas indumentárias) sobretudo por suas máscaras usadas tanto para pegar o prêmio quanto em sua apresentação.
A boy band coreana BTS veio logo abaixo com quatro: Melhor Grupo (como no último ano), Canção Pop, K-Pop e Coreografia, as três últimas pela música ‘On’.
